Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Farstep app for iOS ("Farstep," "the app," "the Service"). By downloading, installing or using Farstep, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Farstep is a focus timer and app blocker for iOS. It lets you block apps you choose, for a length of time you choose, using Apple's Screen Time framework. Time spent on completed quests is reflected inside the app as a fantasy map that grows, places discovered along the way, a streak of days (the Flame) and a record of quests and hours. During a quest the app plays a walk scene with music and ambient sounds.

Farstep offers a free tier and a paid auto-renewable subscription, the Hero's Oath ("Farstep Pro"). Current features, limits and prices are shown in the app and on the App Store before purchase, and may change over time. In-app progress cannot be bought.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Farstep and old enough in your jurisdiction to enter into a binding agreement, or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. You are responsible for any use of Farstep through your Apple Account and device.

3. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation

• The Hero's Oath is an auto-renewable subscription billed to your Apple Account through Apple's in-app purchase system.
• If a free trial is offered, it converts into a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions. We cannot access your Apple Account or cancel on your behalf.
• Charges are made by Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store's policies. We cannot issue refunds directly.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• reverse-engineer, decompile or tamper with Farstep, or try to bypass its blocking in a way that undermines the security of the device;
• use Farstep for any unlawful purpose;
• resell, sublicense or redistribute Farstep or its content.

5. Intellectual property

Farstep, including its name, visual design, illustrations, music, copy and mechanics, is owned by us or our licensors. Your use of the app gives you a personal, non-transferable license; it does not transfer any ownership rights to you.

6. Disclaimer

Farstep is a productivity and focus tool, not a medical, psychological or therapeutic device. It does not diagnose, treat or claim to cure any condition, including phone overuse or attention disorders. Farstep is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the app will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Farstep, including damages related to missed notifications, blocked access to apps you needed, or lost data.

8. Termination

You may stop using Farstep at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or end your access to the Service if you violate these Terms. Subscriptions must still be cancelled separately through your Apple Account, as described in Section 3.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new date and, where required, noted in the app.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms will be submitted to the courts of Campos dos Goytacazes, RJ, Brazil, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction requires otherwise.
